Zendaya Says She Needed Tom Holland’s ‘Support and Love’ While Filming Euphoria

For the first time, Zendaya opened up about having her partner behind the scenes—and whether or not his Euphoria cameo was real.

Season two might have wrapped up a few months ago, but Zendaya is opening up about all things Euphoria once again, and this time she’s taking us behind the scenes. More specifically, she’s opening up about having Tom Holland’s support while filming the show’s most recent season.

As you might have recalled, Holland himself revealed he had visited the set of Euphoria “at least 30 times” back in December 2021 while promoting Spider-Man: No Way Home. Barely a month later, in January 2022, eagle-eyed fans spotted Holland lurking in a behind-the-scenes photo of the cast shared by a crew member. Now Zendaya is opening up for the first time about what it meant to have him by her side during season two's production.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight during Euphoria's For Your Consideration event held in L.A. on April 20, the actor was asked about Holland’s time on set and whether his presence helped her to “pull out” from this season’s more emotionally taxing storylines.

“I think it's great to have that support and love around you because you need that,” Zendaya said, after sharing that she might need a “healthy break” until Rue makes her return for the already confirmed third season. “This isn't an easy job, so it's good to have that to free you up from it every now and then.”

While speaking to E.T. about Holland, Zendaya was also asked about his infamous potential cameo. After a popular fan theory blew up on TikTok, Holland himself hinted that the cameo might or might have not already happened.

Zendaya was asked to debunk the rumor during the FYC event, and, well, let’s just say she and Holland are definitely birds of a feather. When E.T.’s reporter asked her to clear the air about his being an extra at Lexi’s play, Z did not hesitate to quip with a sly smile: “I don’t know. Who knows? The world may never know.”

Aside from Holland's Euphoria shenanigans, Zendaya also confirmed during the event that she won’t be attending the Met Gala 2022 and gave us a major update about the potential run date of Euphoria’s season three. When asked about fans’ speculation that season three could premiere in 2024, Z said: “I think that might be true. I honestly don’t know. There [are] some executives that know better than me. You might wanna ask them. I'm gonna be busy for a while.”

We're waiting patiently! (Kinda.)
