Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott’s Relationship: A Complete Timeline

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott's relationship has had its complications over the years. The Kylie Cosmetics founder and the Grammy nominee have been on-again, off-again since 2017, with two children and a lifetime's worth of headline-worthy news since they first got together.

Over the years the couple has faced backlash for their lavish spoiling of their first child Stormi, walked several Met Gala red carpets together, and gotten matching tattoos. Most recently they were criticized for Scott's role in the Astroworld festival tragedy. But the two have remained coparents and partners through every struggle, as they support each other's business and creative endeavors.

2017

April 2017: Scott and Jenner first take their romance public at Coachella, just weeks after she splits from her ex-boyfriend Tyga. The two are spotted getting cozy and holding hands. 

May 2017: In a paparazzi photo, Scott is seen getting intimate with Kylie, embracing her while grabbing her backside.

June 2017: Nothing like a matching tattoo to cement your permanent love for each other. Jenner and Scott show off their tiny matching butterfly tattoos on their Snapchat accounts. Both get the ink just above their ankles, with Jenner's on her right leg and Scott's on his left. The tats come just a month after Scott released his song “Butterfly Effect,” which Jenner is rumored to be the inspiration for.  

2018

February 2018: The couple experience a major milestone on February 1 with the birth of their first child, Stormi Webster. 

May 2018: The couple attend the Met Gala, sporting matching black outfits with metallic details. 

July 2018: When Kylie is on the cover of Forbes’s fourth annual America’s Women Billionaires issue, the “Sicko Mode” rapper tweets a picture of the magazine, showing off his girlfriend. “Can’t be more proud,” he writes with three heart emoji.

August 2018: The couple sit down with GQ for their first joint interview in the August issue. They pose for a series of sexy pictures together and confirm that their romance sparked at Coachella and that after they got together, Jenner started following him on tour.

“Coachella was one of the stops on his tour,” Jenner says in the interview. “So he said, ‘I’m going back on tour—what do we want to do about this?’ Because we obviously liked each other. And I was like, ‘I guess I’m going with you….’ I really jumped on the bus. And then we rode off into the sunset. I did the whole tour with him…. We would just go to these random cities. We got to not be who we really were. Like, if we were in L.A., I feel like it would’ve been way different. Everything happened for a reason. We weren’t going out as ‘Kylie and Trav.’ We would just be in Cleveland, walking the street for hours. We would go on walks, and no one would bother us.”

2019

April 2019: To celebrate Scott's birthday, Stormi, Jenner, and Scott wear matching Marvel superhero costumes. In an April 30 tribute on Instagram, Kylie writes, “Watching you evolve into the partner, friend, son, and father you are today has been so fulfilling. my real life bestie & hubby all wrapped into one. i love you and I’m so so proud of you. happy happy birthday. let’s fuck around and have another baby.”

May 2019: The couple also make a return appearance at the Met Gala, with Kylie rocking her iconic feathered Versace gown and matching purple hair. Scott opted for a military-inspired look.

July 2019: Jenner writes on Instagram in July 2019 that she and Scott are “partners in crime 4 evaaa.”

August 2019: Jenner, Scott, and Stormi hit the red carpet for the premiere of Scott's Netflix documentary, Look Mom I Can Fly.

September 2019: In an interview for Playboy, Jenner explains that the couple's sex life is plenty healthy. “A lot of people claim that having a baby can hurt your sex life, but I feel like that’s the opposite of our experience,” Jenner says in the interview. 

October 2019: After over two years together, a source confirms to Us Weekly that the two are taking a break from their relationship. “Kylie and Travis have been on and off at various times throughout their relationship,” the source explains. “Kylie still loves Travis and this isn’t considered a full breakup to either of them.”

December 2019: Even during their break, Scott and Jenner continue to coparent Stormi. Scott opens up about the family dynamic during an interview for XXL Magazine's winter 2019 cover story. “Being a dad is better than what I thought it would be,” he says. “Stormi is one of the best human beings I know. She’s like my best friend. She makes life a little bit easier.” He later adds of his split with Jenner, “I love her mommy and I always will…. The hard part about relationships is just trying to be in one without a million outside voices interfering.”

2020

January 2020: The duo reunite to take their daughter, Stormi, on a trip to Disney World in Orlando.

March 2020: Jenner adds her own coparenting perspective during a March interview with Harper's Bazaar. “We’re, like, best friends,” she says of Stormi's father. “We both love [our daughter] Stormi and want what’s best for her. We stay connected and coordinated. I think about [my parents], in situations with Stormi, what they would do. They were very hands-on with me, and I want the same for Stormi.”

Later that month, Entertainment Tonight reports that Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott are back together and have been seeing each other for about a month. However, Jenner’s nephew Mason Disick denies the rumors. “No, Kylie and Travis are not back together,” he says in an Instagram Live.

2021

April 2021: Jenner gives a shout-out to her daughter’s father on his birthday. “Happy birthday @travisscott!!! Stormis daddy,” she writes on her Instagram Story.

September 2021: Kylie confirms her second pregnancy via an Instagram video. In the video at the gynecologist visit, she shows Scott her positive pregnancy test and he hugs her stomach and grins.

November 2021: After 10 people die at Scott’s Astroworld music festival in Houston, Jenner writes an Instagram statement: “Travis and I are broken and devastated. My thoughts and prayers are with all who lost their lives, were injured or affected in any way by yesterday's events. And also for Travis who I know cares deeply for his fans and the Houston community. I want to make it clear we weren't aware of any fatalities until the news came out after the show and in no world would have continued filming or performing. I am sending my deepest condolences to all the families during this difficult time and will be praying for the healing of everyone who has been impacted.”

2022

February 2022: For Stormi's fourth birthday on February 1, Jenner shares a sweet black-and-white Instagram post of Stormi and Travis embracing.

“Our baby is 4,” Jenner writes in the caption. “Happy birthday to the girl that changed my whole world.”

Kylie and Travis second child, baby boy Wolf, is born just one day after his sister's birthday, on February 2, 2022. Jenner announces his birth on Instagram, captioning the post with a simple, “💙 2/2/22.”
