Doja Cat Just Shared an Unfiltered Photo of Her Breakouts, and It’s So Refreshing

Doja Cat is a real one for her latest post on Instagram, in which she unapologetically showed her textured skin in a close-up selfie.

The singer—who wrote a message to fans on her Instagram Stories after she picked up the win for most played artist at the IHeartRadio Awards—also showed the reality of her skin behind the perfected flash photography images at the event, at which her forehead appeared to be completely smooth.

Addressing her award win, she wrote: “I can't give speeches for shit. Thanks iHeart I love you, and thanks everybody for believing in me. Also thank you Makena and thank you everyone at RCA.”

The following post was a photo of her complexion up close; Doja had on the same hair, outfit, and jewelry that she wore to the awards. Relatably, she was experiencing a few breakouts on her forehead, which looked to have been concealed with foundation.

Doja Cat is known for being refreshingly real with her fans and has often appeared in her social media posts makeup-free and revealing her acne scars. Even better, she sees no need to draw attention or talk about her skin—much like other stars such as Millie Bobby Brown and Selena Gomez, who have also shared pictures with uncovered zits recently.

Doja also recently revealed to fans that she had undergone a breast-reduction surgery and that she expects to be in recovery for three months total. For the IHeartRadio Awards, the star dressed fairly casually by her usual standards, perhaps due to her recent surgery.

She wore leather trousers, a slouchy white T-shirt, and a faux-fur overcoat, accessorized with plenty of silver jewelry. Her go-to makeup artist, Ernesto Casillas, created her “grunge glam” makeup look using KVD Beauty, of which he told his followers on Instagram: “I was inspired by the cool, laid-back feel of Doja’s outfit and wanted the makeup to parlay that. I opted for super-natural matte skin using the KVD Good Apple Serum Foundation and a grungy eye with a sharp eyeliner using the best—KVD Beauty Tattoo Liner.”
