Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking. Thank you, mom-daughter duo Demi Moore and Scout Willis, for publicizing a new trend that’s very spring-y without being frilly: neon.
At the Fashion Trust US Awards on Tuesday, March 21, where musician Willis performed, mother and daughter coordinated in highlighter-bright looks: green for Demi, pink for Scout. The GI Jane star, styled by Brad Goreski, wore a slinky Givenchy number and a bag that, frankly, reminds me of an apple. The inaugural event honored and raised funds for young designers, and was hosted by comedian Phoebe Robinson at Goya Studios in Los Angeles.

Willis paired a Barbie-core halter dress with rhinestone-studded boots, and yeah, I’ll say it, I’m getting Lover-era vibes.
“Last night was so special to me! I got to share the thing I love so much to a room full of visionaries and artists, and I got to do it serving you studio 54 Barbie dream fantasy!!! I woke up with my heart feeling very full today. That performance reaffirmed everything about why I make art and share it. Thank you @fashiontrustus for giving me this opportunity! And what a gift to have the hottest date in the room @demimoore,” Willis wrote online.
Are the matching middle parts intentional? Or is it genetic, like for the Haim girls?
Another of Demi Moore’s daughters, Scout’s sister Rumer Willis, is currently pregnant with her first child, which Moore celebrated on Instagram by writing, “Entering my hot kooky unhinged grandma era 🌱.” This ensemble isn’t particularly kooky or unhinged, but it’s definitely hot! (She also wrote a sincere note after an ultrasound appointment: “Saying hello to the little nibblet!! Overjoyed for you, my sweet Rumer. It’s an honor to witness your journey into motherhood, and can’t wait to welcome this baby into the world!” Cute.)
The Moore-Willis gang recently celebrated dad Bruce’s 68th birthday, an especially tender moment given the star’s recent diagnosis of aphasia, and later, frontotemporal dementia. “Happy birthday, BW!” Moore wrote, sharing a clip of the family singing “Happy Birthday.” “So glad we could celebrate you today. Love you and love our family. Thank you to everyone for the love and warm wishes—we all feel them.”
