Even though Inventing Anna, the Netflix series about the “socialite scammer” Anna Delvey (legal surname Sorokin), feels like it came out approximately 18 pop culture lifetimes ago, the Fake German Heiress is back in the news for…her beef with Rachel DeLoache Williams…who was invited on Red Table Talk. Like, Jada Pinkett Smith's Facebook show. This is a lot to take in.
Delvey, who, last we heard, was awaiting deportation to Germany by ICE after overstaying her visa, took to her (unverified) Instagram account to post about her displeasure with Williams's appearance.
“Jada Pinkett Smith is having trauma-porn star Rachel ‘Karen-in-Chief’ on the upcoming trauma & healing episode of her @RedTableTalk. Just making sure she doesn't forget to invite @ChrisRock,” wrote Delvey, referring to the events of her husband Will Smith slapping Chris Rock after the comedian made a joke at Jada's expense at the 2022 Oscars.
Williams's episode of RTT was announced two weeks ago; at the same time Pinkett Smith spoke about the Oscars slap, announcing that she would share “discoveries around healing…when the time comes”—an apparent reference to the work Will and the family were doing behind the scenes.
In the trailer, Williams appears alongside a woman who was scammed by the “Tinder Swindler,” so if we had to guess, we'd say this episode will be about people who pretend to have money and then take someone else's. Which is a fair thing for Williams to talk about.
